Who are you?

  • You have a university degree in Economics/Business Economics, Business Administration/Industrial Engineering and Management, Information Management, Information Technology, Econometrics or Mathematics.
  • You want to do both auditing and consultancy work.
  • You take responsibility, enjoy working in a team and are analytical and eager to learn.
  • You have a good command of Dutch and English (both spoken and written).

What the job entails

You will follow a number of training courses, after which you’ll be ready to get straight to work in the practice. Your customers vary from local players to large multinationals in a variety of market sectors. You will interview clients, gather information (e.g. via data analysis), assess the reliability of internal processes, including automated processes, provide advice on risk management, and implement solutions. You will work regularly at the client’s location and learn from the experienced PwC professionals with whom you will collaborate.

Romy van Keulen came to PwC via her graduate internship and she's now been at the Private Companies & Public Sector group for three years: ‘I’ve now been working at Risk Assurance in the Rotterdam region since 2014. In the past three years I have carried out the range of engagements at all kinds of organisations. I work at around 20 clients each year. These are mostly clients in the Rotterdam region, for example in the port or the middle of downtown, near where I live! I have had many different learning experiences in the past few months. Not only in the area of processes and IT systems, but also in terms of cooperating with different kinds of organisations and dealing with the various corporate cultures you encounter there. All these experiences are serving me well in my current engagement: I’m helping a client get their internal processes in order with the aim of making optimum use of their IT systems so that this client can work more efficiently. In this project we began by conducting a gap analysis, which allows us to give the client the best possible advice on setting up their processes more effectively. We provide the client with the advice during practical workshops, where we sit down with the client and search for the most suitable solution together'.

The vacancy of Risk Assurance Associate is part of the Risk Assurance business unit in the Audit & Assurance line of services, in which we assist customers in auditing their financial statements, preventing fraud and assessing their internal control systems. As part of Risk Assurance, you will be supporting our clients with innovative services, products and tools used for the proactive monitoring and managing of risks in an ever-increasingly complex society. You will help them achieve efficient, effective and controlled company processes and systems and address issues in the area of big data, cyber security, data analysis, IT audits, and internal audits.
