The Finance department is responsible for the internal and external reporting on the financial and tax positions and results of NIBC and its subsidiaries. Finance supports the business by appraising performance against budget, preparing forecasts and ad hoc analyses. The Finance organisation currently consists of around 50 team members within the following teams: Product Control, Shared Financial Services, Management Control, Regulatory Reporting and Policies & Tax.
Product Control is responsible for ensuring that the financial reporting of NIBC adequately reflects the underlying economic performance of the business, with monthly and quarterly reporting cycles. The team supplies information to various departments within NIBC, such as senior management, business management, risk management and other finance areas. The key responsibility of a product controller is to ensure all financial transactions are correctly recognised, measured and reported. The work is done within a team of 12 controllers, dividing their time over both recurring and project-related tasks, which are further detailed below. What will you do?
The candidate will be controlling lending and treasury positions. This includes periodic activities as well as ad hoc inquiries. Good accounting and product knowledge in combinations with strong analytical skills are essential for this task.
The candidate will also be involved in various internal and commercial projects ensuring that the financial processes are covered and improvements are realised. Commercial projects mostly relate to the implementation of new products, in which the Product Control department is responsible for implementing the accounting, valuation and reporting processes and requirements. Internal projects usually involve implementations of new applications or upgrades of existing applications.

Who are we looking for?
The suitable candidate is an enthusiastic young finance professional, interested in further developing knowledge and experience of valuation and accounting of financial products. You enjoy organising social activities to enhance team spirit
Education and experience
- Master degree in Business, Economics, Econometrics or Accounting
- 0-3 years of experience in accounting and control of financial instruments
- Strong analytical and numerical interest
- Strong in Excel and business intelligence tools, preferably Business Objects
Personality & skills
- High quality standards, analytical and accurate
- Have impact and persuasive power
- Strong in creating and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
- Socially skilled
- Excellent communication skills both in English and in Dutch
